In addition to bees, there were an increased number of ladybugs on the shrub leaves. The insects were not moving too quickly. I'm thinking they are anticipating the below zero temperature that is supposed to happen tonight.

I spent the day moving perennials around. When I got to the coneflowers I noticed 8 bees on the blossoms at the same time!
