The animated blue jays at the tray feeder create quite the mess of seed on the ground below. They flip their beaks from side to side looking for the perfect morsel. The seed falls below which is how the many sunflower stalks around the feeder got their beginning. Growing season is over so there is lots of opportunity for the little ground feeders to reap the benefits of the jays messy eating habits.
