I watched the sunrise this morning while enjoying my breakfast coffee.  The warm yellow rays appeared through the bare branches of the poplar trees.  The scene felt cozy until it was light enough for me to see what was really happening in the yard.

The snow from last night coated the evergreen branches like icing sugar.  The gusting wind was blowing the boughs sending the snow across the yard.  In addition to the snow, the wind convinced the willow tree next door to part with the last leaves that were clinging on.

The birds did not appear to mind the blowing snow.  The usual daily 'flock' showed up when I filled the feeders.  The blue jays were brave this morning; landing on the deck railing outside the patio door.  They are one of my favorite birds.  Their color is beautiful and their animated antics can keep me entertained for hours.
