It was a frosty morning!  -33C when I woke up.  The cold magnified all the outdoor sounds.  The train that travels at the south end of the lake sounded like it was traveling in front of my house.  I live at the opposite end of the lake.

The cold did not deter the daily raid that happens in the backyard.  In fact, the deer showed up on three separate occasions.  The first visit was made by only the little ones. One of them likes eating from the tray bird feeder.  She appeared to be the look out.  As she ate, she watched for anything that would bring them harm.  When she spotted a threat, she thumped her front leg to warn the other two.

The mamas showed up on visits two and three.  At one point in time, all five of them were eating at the same hanging feeder.  The does tipped the feeder to eat, spilling the seeds to the ground.  The fawns tried reaching the feeder but opted for cleaning up the seeds that fell.  It was a feeding frenzy!

Feeding frenzy!
